Day Tours
The Daintree River courses 140 km, from the western slopes of the great dividing range to the coral sea.
Because the last 26km are tidal, they present a wonderful opportunity to view a rapid transition from the freshwater portion with its surrounding rainforest and fresh water mangroves, through the brackish water section and finally into the mangrove delta with its many creeks and islands.
The day tours are a minimum of two hours, with extended tours of three and four hours being very popular.
Many people actually combine a day tour with a night tour (2 hour day tour in the afternoon, with a 45 minute break for a snack at the Daintree Eco Lodge, followed by a 2 hour night tour).

Sunset/ Night Tours
Much more than a river tour, it is a surrealistic experience!
It is difficult to describe in words, the exhilaration of slowly floating along a tropical river as day turns to night. The fruit bats fly overhead, the stars begin emerging and the night creatures start their nocturnal chorus.
With a spotlight, birds, reptiles and frogs can be approached to within an arm's length. (A birdwatcher's and photographer's dream come true). Reflections made by the spotlight on the water help make the night a very special one.
